International Glass Symposium 2026

From 21 to 26 September 2026, artists from different countries will gather at the RONA glassworks in Lednické Rovne, Slovakia, together with theorists, curators and glass experts.
This year's theme is Celebrating Handcrafted Glass.

Over five days, the invited artists will create directly at the RONA glassworks, working alongside its experienced glassmakers. A selection of the works created during the symposium will subsequently be presented in an exhibition at the RONA Gallery.

The Symposium is curated by internationally acclaimed glass artist and designer Patrik Illo and Petr Nový, Chief Curator of the State Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou, and is part of Trenčín – European Capital of Culture 2026.
